US congratulates Madagascar on 62nd Independence Day

Washington, DC, US (PANA) - The US Secretary of State, Mr.Antony Blinken has congratulated the people of Madagascar on the occasion of its 62nd Independence Day which falls on Sunday.

In a statement posted by the State Deoartment, he said the US "remains steadfast in its commitment" to work with the Malagasy people to protect the environment and foster economic development.

"We look forward to furthering our partnership to advance democratic values, strengthen human rights, and encourage sustainable economic development in the coming years," he said.
