US Assistant Secretary of State to visit Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea

Washington US, (PANA) - US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Mr Johnnie Carson, will be in Cameroon on 26-28 June to discuss the United States’ partnership with the Government of the Republic of Cameroon on democracy, governance, and investment amongst other issues, an official statement from the US State Department said on Friday.

The visit comes as the people of Cameroon prepare to vote in presidential elections later this year.

The statement said from 28-30 June, Mr Carson will attend the African Union Summit in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea, to address the summit’s theme of youth empowerment, and discuss regional issues important to Africa.
