Tunisia: Tunisia denies releasing military facilities to US

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – The spokesperson for the Tunisian ministry of Defence, Belhassen Oueslani, has denied a report in an Algerian newspaper, ''Al-Khabar'', on possible release of military facilities to the US for air strikes against Libyan organizations affiliated to the Islamist State (IS).

The newspaper in its Thursday’s edition said that the United States had called several Libyan neighbours, including Tunisia and Algeria, for military facilities for air bombardments being planned against the Jihadist groups, which express loyalty to IS.

According to the newspaper, among the requests to Algeria, Egypt and Tunisia is the authorization for US war planes to carry out emergency landing at their military bases.
