Port Sudan, Sudan (PANA) - The Sudanese government on Friday said it has opened five Sudanese airports, in addition to Port Sudan Airport, as well as seven land crossing points, to serve international organisations working in the humanitarian field.
Through the Technical Mechanism of the National Emergency Committee, the government reiterated its commitment to provide all required action to ensure the smooth flow of humanitarian aid and to do everything possible to help deliver assistance to those in need across the whole country.
A press statement said the government has approved the opening of Kassala, Dongola, El-Obeid and Kadugli Airport agreed upon with the President of South Sudan, to facilitate the flow of humanitarian aid.
The statement noted that effective coordination is currently underway to begin airlifting humanitarian aid to South Kordofan state from Juba Airport to Kadugli Airport.
It said “the government has fulfilled all requirements for the entry and flow of humanitarian aid by air, land, and sea”.
