Senate to probe Nigerian bourse, Securities and Exchange Commission

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - The Nigerian Senate is to probe the activities of the apex regulatory body in the capital market,
the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), as well as the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE), over the recent removal of the
Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke as boss of the NSE, the local Punch newspaper reported Wednesday.

The probe will be carried out by the Senate's Capital market Committee, which has also summoned the NSE interim Administrator,
Emmanuel Ikazoboh, to appear before it Thursday.

Senate Committee Chairman on Capital Market, Ganiyu Solomon, said the committee would investigate the merger of quoted
companies and unquoted companies approved by Ikazoboh, and that it was also interested in the details of the sack of 95 workers of
the stock exchange.
