Nigerian President Tinubu arrives in Riyadh for Saudi-Africa Summit

Abuja, Nigeria (PANA) – Nigeria’s President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived om Thursday in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, for the Saudi-Africa Summit scheduled for Friday.

The Nigerian leader was received by ministers, members of the National Assembly as well as other government functionaries at the airport.

Tinubu will use the opportunity of the summit to underscore Nigeria’s commitment to attracting more foreign direct investment and expanding business partnerships, according to the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.

Discussions at the first Saudi-Africa Summit will revolve around supporting joint action, enhancing political coordination, and addressing regional security threats.

It would also facilitate economic transformation through research and the local development of new energy solutions, which was expected to boost cross-sectoral investment cooperation, Ngelale noted.

Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria on energy-related cooperation.

Saudi Arabia’s energy minister, Abdulaziz bin Salman said this during the Saudi-Arab-African economic conference in Riyadh on Thursday.
