Nigeria: Multiple blasts kill 16, injure 10

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Some 16 people died in multiple explosions in Damaturu, capital of Nigeria's North-east state of Yobe, on Wednesday, rescue workers said.

According to the head of the Yobe State Emergency Management Agency, Musa Idi, the early morning blasts also left at least 10 people injured, in addition to delaying school and work resumption.

He said the explosions affected the Buhari Housing Estate and the residential quarters of the state's Ministry of Housing.

No one has yet claimed responsibility for the blasts, but Damaturu has been attacked several times by the Nigerian terror group Boko Haram, which is most active in the North-east.
