Mayor of Paris to visit Tunis

Paris, France (PANA) – The Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, will pay a four-day visit to Tunisia from Monday during which a joint cooperation project between the capitals of the two countries would be launched, an official communiqué said on Friday.

It said on Monday, he would sign with the mayor of Tunis, Seifallah Lasram, an agreement on urban cleanliness and donate four refuse trucks from the city of Paris to the city of Tunis.

On Thursday, Mr Delanoë will deliver a speech at the opening of talks on Tunisian-French decentralized cooperation in Monastir, which will bring together governors and mayors from about 30 Tunisian cities and regions, as well as representatives from French regions, departments and districts.

During the visit, the mayor of Paris will also hold a series of talks with several Tunisian officials including president Moncef Marzouki, Prime minister Hamadi Jebali and the Speaker of the constituent assembly, Mustapha Ben Jaafar.
