Mauritius to back Palestinian bid for UN observer status

Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) - Mauritius will support Palestinian bid for an observer status at the United Nations, the local media reported Thursday, quoting the Mauritian Foreign Minister, Arvin Boolell.

The UN General Assembly will vote Thursday on a resolution submitted by the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas, seeking to make Palestine a non-member observer state of the organization.

The Resolution is expected to garner the required simple majority in the UN General Assembly.
