Mali: UNDP to raise about 131 billion CFAF for Mali

Bamako, Mali (PANA) – The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) will raise and invest in Mali about 263 million dollars (about 131 billion CFA) to support efforts of the Malian government, civil society and private sector, reliable sources told PANA on Monday.

The initiative is under the framework of its new cooperation programme document over 2015-2019 it initiated after the return to institutional normalcy and the improvement of the security situation in Mali.

The programmes focus on four priorities of the Malian government action programme (2013-2018) of the strategic framework for growth and poverty reduction for 2012-2017 and on the orientations of the UNDP strategic plan 2014-2017.

The goals are to provide quality assistance to the Malian government to back efforts to rebuild the country, consolidate peace, restore rule of law and promote good governance.

They also focus on the main lines linked to inclusive and sustained growth, as well as the promotion of the principles of good governance.
