Mali: National women's junior team leaves for pre-World tournament preparations

Bamako, Mali (PANA) – The Malian national women's junior basketball team was due in Spain where they will complete preparations for the world competition, to be hosted by the Czech Republic from 26 June to 6 July, sources from the Malian basketball federation told PANA on Friday.

The African title holders will first take part in a friendly tournament in Alicante from 13 to 15 June, before continuing their preparations in Madrid from where they will leave for the Czech Republic.

The national coach, Oumarou Sidiby, is leading the team of 13 players -- Djénéba N’Diaye (Djoliba AC), Kadiatou Samaké (Commune VI du district de Bamako), Mariam Traoré (Faso-Kanu-Commune VI), Kany Kéita (Djoliba), Ramata Gadiaga (AS Police), Kadidia Maïga (Espoir de Sikasso), Saran Traoré (Commune III du district de Bamako), Mariam Diabaté (Faso-Kanu-Commune VI), Mariam Alou Coulibaly (Jeanne d’Arc), Fatoumata Traoré (Commune VI), Assétou Diakité (Faso-Kanu-Commune VI), Wassa Dembélé (Commune I) and Nafatouma Haïdara (Djoliba ) -- to the global competition.
