Libyan stock market closes trading down

Benghazi, Libya (PANA) – The Libyan stock market on Thursday closed trading down by 16.36 points, or 1.12%, compared to the previous day.

The overall value for transactions was 1,245,371 Libyan dinars (1.250 Libyan dinars = US$1) focusing on trading of 52,053 shares in 49 financial transactions.

Quotations focusing on the banking sector constituted 97.38% of the overall operations at the bourse, while those in the insurance sector constituted 2.62%.

Transactions focused on the securities of the Trade and Development Bank, Al-Wihda Bank, Al-Moutawassit Bank, Al-Joumhouriya Bank, the National Commercial Bank, Libyan Insurance and Sahara Insurance.

Shares of Al-Moutawassit Bank, Sahara Insurance and Libyan Insurance increased by 0.43, 2.27 and 0.21% respectively to trade at 20.79, 11.25 and 9.42 dinars respectively.

Those of the Trade and Development Bank, Al-Joumhouriya Bank, the National Commercial Bank and Al-Wihda Bank fell by 3.11, 2.44, 6 and 0.73% respectively to trade at 26.47, 12, 11.75 and 10.82 dinars respectively.

At the close of trading, the share market value of companies which took part in trading was 3.864 billion Libyan dinars.
