Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libya's Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Ellafi, has said that the government media are focusing more on the concept of government communication and have begun to highlight cultural diversity and establish direct communication with citizens.
Speaking on Tuesday at a ministerial dialogue on the role of the Arab media in the face of transformations, during the opening session of the third edition of the Saudi Media Forum held in Riyadh from 19 to 21 February, Mr. Ellafi stressed that the government of national unity had tried to reverse the concept of government communication in all aspects of government media through seven basic strategies, according to a statement published on the government platform "Hakomitna".
It stressed the need for the communication mission to be strategic within the government media and not merely complementary.
On the sidelines of the Saudi Media Forum, an exhibition on the future of the media will be held, the same source said.
The forum, he said, would also include the Saudi Media Forum Award, with the participation of more than 150 international speakers in more than 30 dialogue sessions discussing media issues and their future in the Arab region.
