Libya: 4 soldiers killed in Benghazi car bomb attack

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Four Libyan soldiers were killed on Monday in a car bomb attack on an army unit on the western main road of the city of Benghazi, an action believed to be in retaliation of the casualties suffered by the rebels when the army launched an offensive to retake control of the Libyan capital city, Tripoli, and other cities.

Military sources said "For three days now, the western zone of Benghazi has been the theater of fierce fighting between the army and its allies on the one hand, and the Islamist organization Ansar Asharia and the Choura Council of Benghazi revolutionaries on the other hand.

The two opposition forces are struggling for the control of Benghazi, the country's second biggest city.

In another development, the organization Daech in the eastern city of al-Naouflia on Monday lost eight fighters in an air raid that targeted the offices of an Egyptian company used as its general headquarter, the sources added.
