Libya: 2 killed, 20 injured in Benghazi car-bomb blast

Benghazi, Libya (PANA) – At least two people were killed and 20 others injured as a car-bomb exploded on Friday morning in the Libyan eastern city of Benghazi, military sources said.

The car bomb exploded as it was getting to a military base laden with ammunition, the military sources said, adding that the explosion killed a man and a child.

The explosion took place in the district of al-Leithi, where the army has been combating Islamist groups for months.

On Thursday, the two camps clashed for the control of the port zone in the Libyan second biggest city, seized since July by the Islamist militias.

The sources said the military has made huge gains on the ground.
