Kaddafi urges tribes to resist NTC

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – The embattled Libyan leader, Mouamar Kadhafi, has in an audio message broadcast by Al-Arabyia television called on Libyan tribes to resist the capture of Libyan cities by forces of the National Transitional Council (NTC), saying he had no intention to surrender.

In the audio mesage, the fourth of its kind since the capture of Tripoli by the rebels, Kadhafi promised a long war, saying Libya would be set on fire.

In the message which coincides with the 42nd anniversary of the 1 September 1969 revolution, he also stressed that tribes in Beni Walid and Sirte, his native town, are armed and would never surrender to anybody.

Kadhafi also claimed there were differences between NATO and the rebels.

Meanwhile, the NTC, which had given an ultimatum to cities still loyal to Kadhafi to surrender by Satuday or face a full attack, has extended the deadline by one week for talks with the heads of tribes to avoid loss of lives.
