Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - Hugues Richard Sama, a 24-year-old journalist from the Observateur Paalga (private newspaper), won the ‘Super Galian’ award at the 22nd edition held here on Saturday night.
The Galian Night is dedicated to the award for the best journalistic works in Burkina Faso.
In addition to the trophy, Sama went home with three million CFA francs or 4,573 euro and a villa worth 20 million CFA francs or 30,487.8 euro.
Seventeen special prizes were also awarded by institutions and ministries to support the work of information and communication professionals.
The prizes awarded to the winners on this 22nd Galian night, consisted of trophies, a cheque for one million CFA francs and various prizes awarded by the Galian partners.
In the online press category, the jury considered that no work deserved to be awarded a prize.
The Galian Awards aim to promote the various professions in the written and audiovisual press and the online press through a healthy practice of media and communication professionals.
