Gambia’s University confers degree on Barrow

Banjul, Gambia (PANA) – The University of The Gambia on Monday conferred the Doctor of Laws and Human Rights (Honoris Causa) degree on President Adama Barrow at a ceremony held at the Independence Stadium in Bakau, eight kilometers outside the capital, Banjul.

According to Amie Bojang Sissoho, the press officer at the Office of the President in State House, Barrow thanked the University of The Gambia for conferring him with the degree.

“The President accepts the honour and sees it as a challenge to him, his government and the people of the Gambia to maintain and keep improving on our human rights as a country,” Mrs Sissoho said.

“While in appreciation of the honour, the office of the President informs the public that the President would like to be called Mr. Adama Barrow,” she added.
