FIFA extends mandate of Malian football normalisation committee to 28 February

Bamako, Mali (PANA) – World football governing body (FIFA) has, again, extended the mandate of the normalisation committee (CONOR) of the Malian Football Federation (FEMAFOOT) until February 2019, to enable the organization to establish a new executive committee for the federation by 31 December, sports sources told PANA on Saturday.

Before that date, a general assembly will be held on 17 November in a bid to adopt a new law governing FEMAFOOT.

The mandate of the normalisation committee of the Malian football federation has been already been extended on one occasion.

After a crisis that shook Malian football in 2013 because of problems of leadership among leaders, FIFA and the Confederation of African Football (CAF) established a normalisation committee to write new law for the Malian football governing body, elect a new executive board and undertake the audit of the management of FEMAFOOT.

Presided by Mrs Daou Fatoumata Guindo, CONOR, and established in December 2017 with six members, it has seen a delay in the execution of its missions, hence the extension of its mandate.
