Django Cissoko appointed new Mali PM

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - The Malian interim president, Dioncounda Traoré, on Tuesday evening appointed Django Cissoko as Prime minister, replacing Cheick Modibo Diarra, who resigned on Monday, official sources told PANA.

Django Cissokho, 64, an administrator by profession, served as Minister of Justice in 1984, secretary-general of the presidency from 1988 to 1989 under the regime of Moussa Traoré and from 2008 to 2011 under the regime of Amadou Toumani Touré.

He has worked with several international organizations including the IMF, World Bank, African Development Bank and Islamic Development Bank.
