Desaily pulls out of Ghana coaching job race

Accra, Ghana (PANA) – Former France captain Marcel Desailly on Monday pulled out of the race to coach Ghana's national football team, the Black Stars, citing the slow pace of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) in taking a decision.

Desailly, who has Ghanaian parents, told a press conference in Accra that he has "run out of patience" at the slow pace at which the GFA is handling the issue.

The 1998 French World Cup winner was one of five coaches originally short-listed for the job and was considered the front-runner.

Desailly denied that he was demanding a huge signing-on fee if hired as coach of the Black Stars.

This leaves the number left in the field at three as the GFA has dropped Turkish coach Can Vanli over false claims.
