Congo: Gabon, Congo launch fiber optics interconnectivity

Brazzaville, Congo (PANA) - Gabonese and Congolese government Monday launched a project involving the change in the inter-connectivity of both nations from copper to fiber optics.

The project was launched at the neutral border post of Gabon-Lékoko, located 7 kilometres from Mbinda (Congo), in the department of Niari, South-West of the Country.

The 550-km cable runs from the terminal station of Matoumbi (Gabon) to Mbinda (Congo) via Pointe-Noire, Dolisie, Makabana and Mosendjo.

The construction work for the network will cover 16 months.
