China to support Burkina Faso in the field of agric

Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso (PANA) - The People's Republic of China will support Burkina Faso in the field of agriculture, to fight against food insecurity, the Chinese ambassador to Burkina Faso, Li Jian, announced
on Tuesday.

"We discussed current projects and prospects for improving and increasing cereal productivity to ensure food security," said Jian after meeting with the Minister of Agriculture and Hydro-agricultural Development, Salifou Ouedraogo.

The Burkina Faso Minister stressed that through the partnership between the two countries, China intends to support the Burkinabe government to improve agricultural productivity, strengthen and raise the technical capacities of producers, improve working conditions through equipment and facilities.

China plans to strengthen seed research capacity and processing and marketing capacities through the establishment of a rice research center and the establishment of an agricultural park.
