Cape Verde: Govt. bans importation of meat from Ebola-hit countries

Praia, Cape Verde (PANA) – The Cape Verdian government has banned the importation of wild and hunting animals and meat from countries affected by the deadly Ebola virus disease, official sources told PANA here Sunday.

With the decision, the Cape Verdian government is considering providing the veterinary administration with facilities that can stop the spread of the Ebola disease, preserving public national health", in accordance with its anti-Ebola plan “to prevent the introduction of the virus on the national territory”.

It named the affected animals as chimpanzees, gorillas, monkeys, forest antelopes and porcupines.
