Cameroon: PM invited to London summit on Boko Haram

Douala, Cameroun (PANA) – The Cameroonian Prime minister, Philémon Yang, has been invited by the British foreign affairs minister, Nic Hailey, to another round of meeting on Boko Haram, this time to be held in London, official sources told PANA here Wednesday.

The meeting, due to be held on 12 June, comes on the heels of the 17 May summit in Paris on insecurity in Nigeria,

The London ministerial meeting is to evaluate the progress made in the action plan recommended in Paris.

They will evaluate what Nigeria and its neighbouring countries (Chad, Niger, Benin and Cameroon) have done to fight the Islamist sect.

In Cameroon, where security forces are already at war with Boko Haram, huge military wares have been deployed to the borders to better carry out surveillance and prevent further abduction of foreign nationals.

Earlier, three religious figures, abducted for more than a month, were released last weekend, the same time the Cameroonian army killed 40 Boko Haram fighters in armed clashes.
