Benin NGO launches 'Red List' project to combat misinformation, fake news

Cotonou, Benin (PANA) - A Benin NGO, Benin Check, has launched a project called "Liste Rouge" (Red List) to combat misinformation and fake news, based on fact-checking, the local media reported.

"The Red List aims to combat misinformation effectively by enabling the public to identify and avoid misleading sources of information," the report newspaper.

The initiative will highlight platforms that have a positive impact on the Beninese public sphere by establishing a database of information sources available online (websites, Facebook and Twitter).

The Red List will group sources into three distinct categories -- Credible, Not very credible and Not credible.
