2nd 'Tripoli Media Days' begin on Wednesday

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan capital, Tripoli, will host the second "Tripoli Media Days" from 20 to 24 December, with the participation of numerous media personalities, ministers and Arab and Libyan officials, PANA learnt from the organisers on Monday.

The programme includes activities aimed at strengthening media communication between Libya and Arab countries, and affirming solidarity in its valuable and humanitarian issues such as Gaza and Derna, and Libya's return to hosting international events after an absence of years, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid El-Lafi, said in a post on his official Facebook page.

He added that the programme of activities includes the following the 100th meeting of the Standing Committee for Arab Media at ministerial and senior official level on Thursday 21 December; the meeting of the Executive Bureau of Arab Ministers of Information on Sunday 24 December; the Libyan Media Forum on Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 December, and the Tripoli Forum for Government Communication on Saturday 23 December.

An exhibition of Libyan media is scheduled for 20-24 December, while there will be the commemoration of the 72nd anniversary of Libya's independence, the raising of the flag, and the distribution of State prizes for journalism and the Arabic language.

There will also be the launch of the new programme cycle of the Libyan national channel on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of its foundation.

On Sunday, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid El-Lafi, met the Tripoli Media Days organising committee in Tripoli, and stressed coordination between all the working teams and institutions to make the events a success.
