2022 WAFCON qualifiers: Results from 1st-leg, 2nd-round matches

Cairo, Egypt (PANA) - The following are results of matches played across Africa in the first leg of the second round of the 2022 Africa Women's Cup of Nations qualifiers.

Winners after the second leg will qualify for the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations, to be held in Morocco, which qualified automatically as hosts, while the remaining 11 spots will be determined by the qualifying rounds.

The tournament will be hosted by Morocco from 2 to 23 July 2022.

Uganda walked over Kenya (Uganda won on walkover and advanced to the 2022 Africa Women Cup of Nations in Morocco after Kenya withdrew before the first leg).

The second-leg, second-round matches will be played between 20 and 23 February.

The tournament also doubles as the African qualifiers to the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The top four teams will qualify for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, and two more teams will advance to the inter-confederation play-offs.

Nigeria are the three-time defending champions, having won the African tournament in 2014, 2016 and 2018. The 2020 edition, which would have been the first to feature 12 teams, was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
