2014 FIFA WC: Brazilian agents target Super Eagles' players
Curitiba, Brazil (PANA) - Three Super Eagles' players -- Ejike Uzoenyi, Austin Ejide and Ahmed Musa -- are being targeted by Brazilian football agents, PANA reported from the ongoing 2014 FIFA World Cup finals in Brazil.
One of the agents, Wollace DeSouza, who is based in the US, said the trio were being monitored for possible transfer to clubs in Brazil.
Only one of the three players on his radar, Ahmed Musa, was on parade in the 0-0 draw with Iran.
Ejike Uzoenyi and Austin Ejide did not witness action.
DeSouza, whose call card indicates that he is a licensed player agent with the United States Soccer Federation (USSF) works with Talent Sports Management and said that he was in Curitiba primarily to watch the three players.
He, however, said that the main target was Uzoenyi whom he had been focusing on since the last African Nations Championship in South Africa (CHAN).
"He was really dazzling...," remarked DeSouza who wondered why the player was not featured.
To him, Uzoenyi would had made the difference in the Nigerian sluggish offensive.
He disclosed that he had the mandates of three Brazilian clubs to scout for quality players, especially from Africa.
The clubs are Flamengo based in Rio de Janiero, São Paulo FC and Sociedade Esportiva Palmeiras which is also based in São Paulo.
PANA recalls that the World Cup has always been a fertile ground for football agents and Brazil 2014 will not be different.
