2014 CAF Champions league: Group phase final matches this weekend

Lagos, Nigeria (PANA) - Action resumes Friday through Sunday in the final group games (Day 6) of the 2014 CAF Champions league across Africa.

On Friday, 22 August, Al-Hilal Omdurman of Sudan was due to play host to Zamalek of Egypt in Group A. The Sudanese are bottom of the table while Zamalek is third, although both team have scored four points each from five matches.

On Sunday, Vita Club and TP Mazembe, both from the Democratic Republic of Congo, will play for formality sake as both teams have already qualified for the semi-finals with 10 points each. Mazembe places first on the table with superior goals advantage (+3) while Vita has +2.

In Group B, CS Sfaxien of Tunisia will Saturday take on ES Setif of Algeria. Sfaxien tops the group on 10 points and Setif is second on 9 points.

The other Group B match will take place on Sunday between bottom-of-the-table Esperance of Tunisia and third-placed Ah-Ahly Benghazi of Libya.
