CSOs in Libya hold workshop on security sector reform

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Representatives of civil society organisations in Libya have concluded a workshop, organised by the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), focusing on building the capacity to support legislators in strengthening legal frameworks for security sector reform and governance.

UNSMIL said in a statement issued on Wednesday that participants at the training session held in Tunisia, including a number of members of the House of Representatives, the High Council of State and the 5+5 Joint Military Committee, made recommendations to the House of Representatives and the Council of State.

These recommendations are aimed at improving the involvement of CSOs in the security sector reform process, strengthening overall participation and ensuring the support of the various segments of the society for efforts to develop the sector.
