Mauritania: World Bank mission in Nouakchott 13-15 July

Nouakchott, Mauritania (PANA) – The Managing Director in charge of finance at the World Bank (WB), Bertrand Badré, will undertake a three-day visit to Mauritania from 13 to 15 July 2014, the institution’s Nouakchott office said here Saturday.

Because the visit will focus on the identification of investment opportunities in the domain of infrastructure, the senior WB regional official will meet several members of the Mauritanian government and private businessmen and women for a series of talks on, among other things, the Nouadhibou franc zone (ZFN) and the national mining and industrial company (SNIM).

In his capacity as Managing Director in charge of Finances within the World Bank group, he is responsible for strategies related to financial issues and the management of the institution through all components.

The following are within the framework of his mission -- the creation of new products and innovative financial services; the surveillance of the current financial situation of the institution; the production of reports; mobilization of financial resources in accordance with the strategy of the group; and the establishment of international dialogue on the norms and better financial practices within the financial stability committee within which he represents the World Bank group.
