Mauritius: Mauritian PM expresses condolences to Saudi Arabia

Port-Louis, Mauritius (PANA) - Mauritian Prime Minister Sir Anerood Jugnauth has expressed the deepest condolences of the government and people of Mauritius to Saudi Arabia following the demise of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, PANA reported on Sunday.

In a communique issued in Port-Louis, the government said: “King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, aged 90, ascended the throne in 2005, and he brought in cautious reforms, including giving women a greater public role.”

PANA reports that Mauritius has been planning to open an embassy in the Saudi Kingdom that will cater for the needs of pilgrims to the Islamic holy sites of Mecca and Medina every year and also to develop business and investment relations with the Saudi kingdom.
