Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libya's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, al-Taher al-Baour and the Turkish Ambassador to Libya, Güven Begiç, on Wednesday discussed preparations for the upcoming Africa-Turkey Summit scheduled to be hosted by Libya in early 2026.
The meeting highlighted the importance of the summit in strengthening cooperation between Ankara and the countries of the African continent, and the central role of Libya in ensuring the summit's success.
The Libyan Foreign Ministry said in a statement that the meeting also discussed regional and international issues of common interest, stressing the importance of continued coordination and consultations between the two countries to address challenges and strengthen stability in the region.
The 38th African Union (AU) summit granted Libya the right to host the meeting. The first Turkey-Africa Summit was first held in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2008.
