Libya to host 2026 Africa/Turkey Summit

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libya will host the 2026 Africa-Turkey Summit, the Libyan News Agency (LANA) reported on Monday.

It quoted a press office from the Presidential Council as saying the decision was taken at the 38th Summit of the African Union (AU), held on 15th and 16th February in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The press statement said the decision is the result of the diplomatic efforts made by the Libyan delegation during AU summit, led by the Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed al-Manfi.

Libya's hosting of the Afro-Turkish summit reflects efforts being made to restore Libya's effective role and leadership position on the African continent, after having been a central player in broadening the horizons of economic and political cooperation and sustainable development in the region.
