Libyan, Senegalese FMs discuss bilateral ties
Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libyan's Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Mr. al-Taher al-Baour and Senegal's Minister of African Integration and Foreign Affairs, Yassine Fall on Tuesday discussed ways of enhancing cooperation between their countries in various areas of common interest.
A press release issued by the Libyan Foreign Ministry on Wednesday said the two top diplomats met in the Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa, ahead of the 46th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU), scheduled for 12 and 13 February.
It said the meeting focused on coordinating joint efforts and exchanging support on continental and international positions, reflecting the two countries' commitment to strengthening joint diplomatic work at regional and international levels.
The press release said Mr. al-Taher al-Baour also met with the Chairman of the African Union Commission (AUC), Moussa Faki, focused on the role of the AU and AUC in supporting efforts to strengthen coordination and consultation on priority issues at the continental level.
The two men stressed the importance of promoting joint work within the AU's bodies in a way that contributes to the achievement of the strategic objectives of the African bloc.
They also exchanged views on ways to strengthen cooperation and integration between member states as part of the AU's efforts to promote common interests and achieve sustainable development on the continent.
