2026 FIFA WC Qualifiers: Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal clinch final automatic qualifying spots

Abidjan, Cote d'Ivoire (PANA) - Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal clinched the final two automatic qualifying spots in the CAF qualifying series for the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Kenya and Mauritania respectively in their final group matches on Tuesday.

Cote d'Ivoire beat Kenya 3-0 at home in Group F while Senegal defeated Mauritania 4-0 at home in Group B.

Cote d'Ivoire ended the qualifiers with 26 points, Gabon had 25 points, Gambia had 13 points, Kenya 12, Burundi 10 and Seychelles 0. 

Senegal topped Group B with 24 points, DR Congo had 22 points, Sudan had 13, Togo 8 points, Mauritania 7 points and South Sudan 5 points. 

Morocco, Algeria, Ghana, Egypt, Tunisia, Cape Verde, South Africa, Senegal and Cote d'Ivoire have secured their tickets after topping their groups.

The top team in each of the nine groups qualified automatically while the best four second-placed finishers across the nine groups will enter the African play-offs in November for the chance to earn a spot into the intercontinental play-offs.
