Website of electronic archiving project of history of Libyan press launched

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Prime Minister of the Government of National Unity, Abdelhamid Al-Dbaiba, Monday witnessed the launch of the website archiving the history of the Libyan press, said an official  statement.

The ceremony, which was part of activities of Tripoli, the capital of Arab Media 2022, took place here in the presence of many ministers, ambassadors, researchers and people interested in the media field, the same source said.

In his speech, the Minister of State for Communication and Political Affairs, Walid Al-Lafi, explained that the project represented an open source allowing all researchers to learn about Libya's journalistic heritage.

He noted that it was an ancient heritage that must be preserved.

After the launch of the website, the Libyan prime minister was informed about the mini-exhibition, which included a number of archived documents related to the history of the Libyan press.
