Sudan:'s military leader calls for easing of procedures for Libyan investors

Khartoum, Sudan (PANA) - Sudan on Thursday underlined the strength of the bonds linking Khartoum and Tripoli, expressing readiness to strengthen them further.

The official Sudan News Ageny (SUNA) said the President of the Sudanese Transitional Sovereign Council, Lieutenant General Abdul Fattah Al-Burhan, stressed “the strong and deeply-rooted relations” between Sudan and Libya, and that Sudan was keen to develop them to achieve the common interests of the peoples of the two countries.

SUNA said Burhan, on Thursday received in Fashir a high level Libyan delegation, in the presence of the Governor of Darfur Region, Minni Arko Minawi.

It said Burhan has instructed various government bodies to facilitate all procedures for Libyan investors in a way that enhances economic cooperation between the two countries, pointing to the great potential and resources that Libya enjoys.

It added that the meeting with the Libyan delegation discussed ways to develop and expand areas of Libyan investment in Darfur and other states within the Sudan.

The visiting Libyan delegation includes representatives from the ministries of foreign affairs, finance, transport and a group of investors. Others are representatives from chambers of commerce, seaports, customs and banks, as well as the Libyan embassy in Khartoum.
