Officials discuss 2022 budget allocations to Libya's airports

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Ministry of Transport of the Government of National Unity discussed the financial allocations for airports for the year 2022, as well as the operational plans and the provision of the necessary means to overcome the shortcomings in the equipment and operating systems.

These issues were discussed at an expanded meeting held on Monday at the headquarters of the Airports Authority in Tripoli, bringing together the chairman of the authority and his deputy, the directors of airports and the directors of departments, in the presence of the deputy minister of transport for air transport affairs and the adviser to the minister, the chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority and the director general of the National Meteorological Centre, a ministry statement said.

The meeting also discussed the progress of the operational process in airports and the review of the proposed financial allocations for the year 2022, the statement said.

The head of the development and investment department of the airport authority's planning department, Ikram Abou Cbeiha, made a presentation based on an audio-visual document at the meeting on the estimated budget proposal for the current year and the targeted projects for all airports.

Among the issues discussed were the necessary amendments and notes on the prepared proposal, the interest-based commitments and the technical completion percentages of the contracted projects implemented in the past years.

The statement added that the meeting discussed issues related to civil aviation systems and equipment, air navigation and meteorological devices, including gaps and necessary equipment, as well as the development of solutions to the problems and obstacles facing the work at airports.
