Malian Union of Consular Chambers says there are enough supplies of basic items as effects of sanctions loom

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - The National Union of Consular Chambers of Mali has given the assurance that the country has enough basic necessities, as the effects of economic and financial sanctions by the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) loom.

In a statement, it urged economic operators to take all necessary measures to ensure regular supplies from other open corridors, notably the ports of Guinea, which has refused to close its borders with Mali, Mauritania, which is not a member of ECOWAS, and Algeria.

The National Union of Consular Chambers of Mali says it can count on "the spirit of civic-mindedness and patriotism of all".

The statement was signed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Mali (CCIM), the Malian Council of Road Transporters (CMTR) and the Malian Shippers Council (CMC).
