Mali: Kuwait Fund grants Mali 10 billion FCFA to modernize Bamako Senou airport

Bamako, Mali (PANA) - Kuwait is giving Mali 10 billion FCFA for the extension and modernization of the Bamako International Airport.

The agreement for the fund was signed on Monday by the Malian Minister Economy and Finance, Mrs Bouaré Fily Sissoko and the Deputy Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, Mr. Ahmed Al- Umar.

The project aims to contribute to improving economic conditions in Mali through the expansion and improvement of air transport facilities.

It will fund the renovation of structures, provide for equipment and construction of a new passenger terminal of 15,000 square meters, renovation of the existing terminal, expansion of the freight terminal and construction of a new runway.
