Libya stresses importance of successful Afro-Japanese partnership

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libyan Deputy Foreign Minister for International Cooperation and Organisations, Omar Ketti, stressed the importance of the success of the Afro-Japanese partnership in creating a common goal.

This goal, he said, is to achieve sustainable development at all levels through the provision of technical and artistic support from Japan to achieve the desired goals for the welfare of Africans and the establishment of security and stability in their territories.

This was contained in a speech delivered on Saturday on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Mangouch, at the virtual ministerial meeting organised by the Japanese government in cooperation with the African Union Commission (AUC), to prepare the Eighth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), to be held in the Tunisian capital in August 2022.

Ketti emphasised the need to implement the Silencing the Guns 2020 plan, which is one of the main objectives to promote global development.

He stressed the importance of benefiting from the experience and efficiency of Japanese technology institutions in training and qualifying human cadres in Libya and the entire African continent, and creating comprehensive strategic partnerships between the African and Japanese sides.

Mr. Ketti stressed the importance of the success of the Afro-Japanese partnership in creating a common goal, which is to achieve sustainable development at all levels through the provision of technical support from Japan to achieve the desired goals for the welfare of the African people and the implementation of the plan to Silence the Guns 2020, which is considered one of the main goals for promoting overall development.

The virtual ministerial meeting was chaired on the Japanese side by Yoshimasa Hayashi, Japan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, and on the African side by Senegal's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Aïssata Tall Sall, with the participation of many African foreign ministers.
