Libya: Anti-drug brigade seizes drugs in Tripoli

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) – The anti-drug brigade in Libya has, in several operations in the capital, Tripoli, seized 4 kg of heroin and 1 kg of cocaine, the deputy-director of the brigade, Mohamed Abderrahmane, said on Monday.

Mr Abderrahmane said that the brigade had had challenges tracking down the drug dealers.

Since the fall of the Muammar Kaddafi regime in 2011 and the subsequent collapse of government institutions, particularly the security organs, Libya has become a transit point for drug trafficking.
