Chairman of Libyan Presidential Council arrives to take part in Arab Summit

Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Najla Al-Mangouch, Monday attended the reception ceremony of the chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, and his accompanying delegation in the capital, Algiers, prior to the 31st session of the Arab Summit to be held on 1-2 November.

Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra were at the Houari Boumediene airport to receive the Libyan delegation, said a statement from the Libyan Foreign ministry.

At the end of their meeting on Sunday in Algiers devoted to the adoption of the agenda and resolutions of the summit, the Arab foreign ministers agreed on the need to urgently organize elections in Libya and end the transitional stages.

In a statement to the press after the ministerial meeting, Al-Mangouch said the ministers took parallel decisions that served the interests of the Arab people, noting the agreement on the need to go to elections and end the era of transitional stages in Libya.

The Deputy Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ambassador Hossam Zaki, affirmed that the meeting of Arab foreign ministers, concluded with a consensus on all the issues raised, and did not postpone any point.

He explained that the issues that would be presented to the summit scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday in Algeria were adopted by consensus of all delegations.

In a statement to the press following the conclusion of the work of the preparatory meeting of the Arab summit at the level of foreign ministers, Zaki said that there was a draft resolution on the Libyan file, as well as other political files related to the crises in the Arab countries, noting that there was consensus on this from the Arab foreign ministers.
