Attacks on journalists on the rise in Tunisia

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) - The National Union of Tunisian Journalists (SNJT) has recorded the highest rate of attacks against journalists in the period between 1 November 2020 and 25 October 2021.

Presenting its fifth annual report on the safety of journalists in Tunis on Tuesday, the SNJT said that the period under consideration is the "darkest" for the safety of journalists in the last five years where 224 attacks were recorded.

For the SNJT, the safety of journalists recorded the worst period during the months of February and March. The number of attacks against journalists in the field came to 174 professionals of information against 50 journalists working in the virtual space.
