Algeria: Algerian army thumps caravan of terrorists on Niger border

Tunis, Tunisia (PANA) – Algerian armed forces Monday foiled an attempt by a caravan of terrorists to enter Algeria across the border with Niger in Tamanrasset region, security sources said.

According to the same sources, the terrorists who had several four-wheel-drive vehicles included 12 Sudanese and eight Chadian nationals.

Following the deterioration of the security situation in neighbouring Libya, the Algerian Popular Army has beefed up its presence and intelligence service along the southern border of the country in a bid to thwart terror threats and traffickers.
