Al-Mangouch attends Ministerial Preparatory Meeting of Council of League of Arab States in Algiers
Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - Libyan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Najla Al-Mangouch is attending the ministerial preparatory meeting of the 31st session of the Council of the League of Arab States (LAS) to be held on 1-2 November, an official source said here Sunday.
The session, which will be chaired by Algeria, will discuss the Libyan political situation.
It aims at strengthening coordination and consultation among Arab countries to face regional and international developments, and "to unite ranks and cooperate to develop mechanisms for joint Arab action to make the work of the Arab Summit a success", said a statement from the Libyan Foreign ministry.
Additionally, the summit will discuss the summary of the meetings of the permanent representatives of Arab countries to adopt them before submitting them to the leaders of Arab countries.
Developments in the Libyan conflict and the Yemeni, Sudanese and Syrian crises were presented for discussion with a view to reaching a consensus.
The foreign ministers will adopt the draft agenda of the summit and the draft resolutions, before holding a consultative session on Sunday to prepare for the summit.
Saturday's ministerial meeting saw the handover of the presidency of the 31st summit to Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra by his Tunisian counterpart, Othman Jarandi.
Algeria's permanent representative to the League of Arab States, Abdelhamid Chbira, said that the Libyan file will also receive a lot of attention, adding that Algeria has a clear vision to get Libya out of the crisis.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Al-Mangouch met with a number of Arab foreign ministers as part of the ongoing process of coordination and consultation on regional and international developments.
Al-Mangouch and the accompanying delegation arrived in Algeria Saturday to participate in the Arab League Council meetings at ministerial level in preparation for the 31st Arab Summit.
