Tripoli, Libya (PANA) - The Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council, Mohamed Al-Manfi, discussed here Wednesday with the Congolese Minister of Foreign Affairs and Francophonie, Jean-Claude Gakosso, the latest developments in the national reconciliation project in Libya.
They also discussed measures to be taken on the inclusive national reconciliation conference scheduled for next April, according to a statement from the Press Office of the chairman of the Presidential Council.
According to the same source, the chairman of the Council stressed the need to speed up the completion of the reconciliation dossier and to pay attention to it, considering it to be one of the most important national dossiers.
He also indicated that its success would pave the way for the elections to which all Libyans aspired.
On Tuesday in Zenten, Congo-Brazzaville's Minister of Foreign Affairs, whose country chairs the African Union's High-Level Committee on Libya, took part in the fifth ordinary meeting of the Preparatory Committee for National Reconciliation in Libya, in preparation for the inclusive conference scheduled for next April in Sirte.
On 5 February, the participants in the 9th meeting of the African Union High Level Committee on Libya, in Brazzaville, Congo, in a final communiqué issued at the end of their meeting, called on the African Union Commission to continue to support the Libyans to ensure the success of reconciliation, in a rapid and effective manner, calling on everyone to fully adhere to the reconciliation efforts in a comprehensive and constructive manner.
