Nairobi, Kenya (PANA) - Two people were killed in a mid-air collision involving a training and passenger aircraft after take off from Wilson airport in Nairobi, aviation authorities said on Tuesday.
The commercial aviator, Safarilink airlines, operating a Dash8 aircraft with 44 people on board, collided with a Cessna 172 Skyhawk, Reg 5Y-NNJ, run by Ninety Nines Flying School, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) said.
The mid-air collision forced the Cessna aircraft to crash at the Nairobi National Park while the Dash 8 managed to land at Wilson Airport.
"Investigations have commenced through various agencies led by the Air Accident Investigation Department and the National Police Service," KCAA said in a statement.
